Hi there. Thanks for visiting my plugin page.
We've developed a plugin for Adobe Lightroom which exports images to Tumblr and is compatible with their new API version 2 (which broke the plugin we were previously using).
It supports Title, Caption, and Keyword metadata (posted as post text and tags) and also supports click through URLs, draft/queue/private/published options for posts and HTML tags in the text fields.
Please note, it requires an FTP location to use as a stepping stone to get the images to Tumblr.
You can buy it by clicking here:
Here's how it uses the metadata from Lightroom:

Here's how you set it up...
PLUGIN INSTALLATION:
To install the plugin, do as you would with any other Lightroom plugin.
Go to FILE > PLUGIN MANAGER, click "ADD" at the bottom of the plugin menu and select the plugin file (unzip it first!).
This is what that looks like:

TUMBLR AUTHENTICATION:
The first time you use the plugin, you will need to go to your default browser and log in to your Tumblr dashboard. Then click "EXPORT" and select the plugin from the pulldown menu at the top of the dialogue box and click "Authenticate".

This will bring up a prompt to authenticate on Tumblr. Click through to authenticate.

It will open a browser window with a Tumblr authentication request. Click "ALLOW". YOU WILL RECIEVE AN ERROR MESSAGE FROM TUMBLR - THIS IS NORMAL.

CLICKING AUTHENTICATE leads to a "NOT FOUND" page. This is normal. Do not close the window yet. Copy the URL of the "NOT FOUND" page into the prompt in Lightroom and click OK.

You will now be authenticated and ready to go.
FTP CONFIGURATION:
When you export, in the FTP configuration menu, you will need to enter your FTP address, username, and login (it uses an FTP site as a stepping stone to get the images onto Tumblr). After entering your server info, in the export dialogue box, enter the http path to the folder where the images are temporarily being uploaded (we implemented this because we use a shared server on MediaTemple so our FTP upload path is different from our HTTP path).
The plugin will upload the image being exported to this folder temporarily, then will post it to Tumblr, then delete the file from the FTP server, so there are no files stored permanently on the server - it is only a temporary stepping stone to get the image into Tumblr's system.
EXPORTING IMAGES:
OK. Now we are ready to go.
The plugin uses Lightroom metadata for the text and tags in the Tumblr post, so you can batch upload images with different captions and tags, and you can easily find the associated text in Lightroom. It's also searchable.
It uses the following fields from Lightroom in the following format:
"TITLE" / "CAPTION" in the text field.
and
#KEYWORD-tags
It supports HTML tags in the text fields. If you prefer not to have HTML in your lightroom captions, you can upload the images and then go into the post though the Tumblr dashboard and edit the posts to add HTML tags as desired.
It allows you to post images to your queue, drafts, straight to your Tumblr blog or as a private post to your blog.
It also supports different types of posts: draft, private, published, and queue.
And it also supports a click-through URL (entered in the EXPORT dialogue box).
Sorry, it doesn't support video.
MORE INFO ABOUT THE PLUGIN, DISCLAIMERS, ETC.:
The plugin has been tested with Lightroom 3.5 and 4.2 and works as of October 2012 (we can't control any changes to the API that Tumblr makes in the future).
Please note: This plugin requires access to a FTP site to upload images to on their way to Tumblr's servers. This is due to limitations in Tumblr's new V2.0 API.
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide any support or warranty for this and as such, we have priced the plugin accordingly in order to just cover our development costs (cheap!) Suffice it to say, we have tested it on our own system thoroughly (Lightroom 4.2 running on a Mac with OSX 10.7.5, FTP site with Mediatemple) and have had no problems. It is working great for us and it is currently an active part of our workflow.
Paid license of this plugin is for use by ONE user. Please do the right thing and support this project rather than pirating software. This is not our primary means of income. We developed this for our own use, but want to share it so we are just trying to cover our development costs and help support future projects. We hope you like this plug in and will refer your friends.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS PLUGIN DOES NOT INCLUDE ANY SUPPORT OTHER THAN THIS OR WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. We are unfortunately not equipped to offer support.
